Closet Diaries #2: My 2016 purse of the year

Let’s just get things out in the open. I have done a horrendous job at keeping up with the closet diaries series. Back when I began this sub-project on the blog, I had purchased my first three items of 2016 (this was in April). I diligently took well lit photos of all three pieces, and prepared to write well thought out posts about why I made each addition. Sort of like this one. Unfortunately, that post was the only one that I did. And now it’s September.

So, needless to say I feel pretty guilty about it all (especially considering at this point I’ve accumulated too many new pieces to really catch up, thought I might try with a small collection of my favourites). But I wanted to jump back in today with a short post about my purse. I thought this would be an appropriate place to restart since this purse has become such a staple in my wardrobe. It’s the only bag I use besides my back pack (which – I got a new one, I definitely need to make a post about it. It’s become a staple as well).

Also, you may have noticed my new branding around here. A post explaining that whole deal will be soon to come. There is still a lot of transitioning to do, which I am very excited about. So many side projects, so little time! Thankfully, I’ve finally been able to consolidate all of my passions into one online brand, which I am so pleased with.

Anyway, this is a lot of talk about a lot of stuff, none of which is the purse. So let’s talk about my purse.

I bought this purse at my local MCC Thrift Shop in April. I was pretty happy to find it, because I was in need of a purse that was a nice neutral colour. I found this beauty and have clung to it since. It fits my wallet just so, and I can also keep a few essentials in it like my mini bible, my vlogging camera, and some left over mints from Crabby Joes.

It has a few small pockets on the front that I use to keep a hand lotion and a lip balm in. The exposed zippers and tasseled pulls that provide a little interest to the face of the purse.

It’s size is perfect for easy carrying but it also fits everything that I might need in a day.

And that was my second addition to my closet in 2016. Definitely a worth while one.

xoxo, Katie
